Pulmonary Function Test
Pulmonary function tests are a group of tests designed to evaluate how the lungs perform during inhalation and exhalation. Spirometry is one of the more common of these tests. This approach measures the speed and amount of exhale from a patient. Other tests can measure a patient’s lung volume. The information obtained during a lung function test can help doctors determine if you have a certain disorder. Some conditions diagnosed through these tests are emphysema, asthma, and bronchitis. At the Pulmonary & Sleep Center of the Valley, we focus on diagnosing lung disorders with the goal of offering effective treatment that helps you to breathe better.
